Hot! Baylor's Robert Griffin Iii Surges To Finish First - Heisman Watch

A late push has moved Robert Griffin I into the lead of the final USA TODAY Heisman Watch of the season.

Interestingly, it is Luck that finished two points behind Griffin. The Stanford quarterback, who threw for 3,170 yards and 35 touchdowns, jumped Richardson after earning 40 points.

The Alabama running back slipped back to 32 points despite a season with 1,583 yards on the ground and 20 scores.

The other player to receive a vote in the top three was Wisconsin running back Montee Ball. He received 14 points following four touchdowns in the Big Ten title game that ran his season total to 38 total scores, the second-best total behind Barry Sanders in 1988.

Kellen Moore, who led Boise State to an 11-1 record, rounds out the top five with 9 points.

LSU defensive back Tryann Mathieu joined the poll for the first time this season after a touchdown return and fumble recovery for the Tigers in their SEC title game. Mathieu is tied with USC quarterback Matt Barkley.
